# Legal

$CRX is intended to function as a utility and governance token within the CereBree ecosystem. It is not designed or offered as, and should not be understood as, an offer of equity, ownership, or corporate governance rights in CereBree as a legal entity. Rights associated with $CRX, if any, are limited to those set out in the applicable token terms and documentation.

The classification of digital assets, including whether a given token may be treated as a security or regulated financial instrument, depends on applicable law in each jurisdiction and can vary over time. CereBree does not make representations as to how $CRX will be classified in any specific jurisdiction and encourages prospective participants to seek independent legal advice regarding their own circumstances before acquiring or using $CRX.

CereBree is committed to complying with applicable data protection and other regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions in which it operates, including relevant provisions of the GDPR, HIPAA, and local data residency requirements where applicable. Health data handled through Oracle Blockchain Platform is subject to offchain storage and consent-based smart contracts, as described elsewhere in this documentation, and CereBree's compliance programmes are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis.
